Students in beginning drawing classes focus on building proficiency with charcoal and graphite, accurately perceiving and recording what they see, making compositional decisions, and developing expressive technique. As they learn to make convincing representational drawings, they also practice arranging abstract elements effectively.
2-D Design students use the elements and principles of art in a variety of materials. They learn the basics of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and by the end of the course are able to translate their digital work into physical formats through printing or laser cutting. Students also begin to experiment with time and motion.
